Joinery is an investment and our experienced design team are happy to advise on value engineering the design, layout and specification based on your priorities.

A project may consist of a single stand alone item of joinery or numerous items of joinery as part of a full house renovation.  Our lead time varies between 12 to 16 weeks, depending what projects we are currently working on.  However, if you want to work with us on a larger project we recommend getting in touch with us as early as possible, so we can pencil the work into our production schedule.  We work directly private clients and also as part of a larger team with architects and interior designers.

When you make an initial enquiry, we will arrange a call with one of the design team to build up a picture of your requirements, including the size and scope of the project, the budget, the location and the timeline.  If you have any drawings or inspiration images these will be very helpful, but are not essential.  We will ask for approximate dimensions and photos of the space, so we can prepare a ball park quote, which will give you an indicative price range. If the quote is within your budget and the timelines suit, the next step is to arrange a site visit.  The site visit allows us to assess your space and carry out an initial site survey.  We will ask more questions, and will show you sample materials and explain the merits of different design options.  If there are significant changes to the design at any stage of the process we will provide an updated quote for your approval.

Upon receipt of the deposit payment we will input your project into our production schedule and advise you of our current lead time.  We will draft your initial drawings and circulate these for comments, and the drawings will be refined based on your feedback.  It is incredibly important to us that the design meets your needs, so we do put considerable thought into the details of your design.  A second site visit will be arranged in order to double check measurements and review the design with you in person. Once the drawings have been signed off and measurements confirmed we commence production.

Our joinery is hand made in our Workshop in Rye by our team of experienced bench joiners.  Each item of joinery is made and fully put together: shelves, hanging rails and drawers are fitted, and doors are hung, which allows every aspect of the joinery to be tested and checked before it is dismantled for finishing. We will contact you to arrange fitting dates and will send the stage payment invoice, payment is required in advance of fitting.  You will receive a Pre-Fitting Information Sheet with details of the fitting, including the expected duration and setting out anything that needs to be completed by other trades beforehand.  One of the design team will be onsite for the commencement of fitting which is carried out by our specialist partner, The Joinery Fitting Company. The design team will monitor progress throughout the fitting and will carry out final checks and sign off. Upon completion of fitting we will issue our final invoice. We strive to build strong relationships with our clients based on respect and trust and we hope this results in you being thrilled with your new joinery and that the experience of working with us exceeds your expectations.

We have long standing relationships with a number of different trades.

    Decoration

We can arrange for your joinery to be hand painted, on site, after fitting.  Our decorator is meticulous and a pleasure to work with.  He does get booked up, so please let us know as soon as possible whether you would like a quote for hand decoration.

    Electrical work

We can arrange for electrical work to be completed, such as installation of integrated lighting, or moving sockets.  Please be aware that electrical work will often need to be completed over two site visits, one prior to the joinery installation and one after.

    Plumbing work

We can arrange for plumbing work to be completed, such as moving radiators.  Please be aware that plumbing work will often need to be completed over two site visits, one prior to the joinery installation and one after.
