Established in 1978 by Richard and Lindy Cullinan, and now a second generation family business led by Katie, at Cullinan Joinery we are proud of our history. Richard and Lindy Cullinan were delighted when daughter Katie joined the company in 2010 and ensured she learnt the ropes by spending time in the Workshop, on site and liaising with clients. Katie became a Company Director in 2017, and leads the design team in our South West London studio.
The Workshop was originally in Wandsworth, London and moved to the picturesque seaside port of Rye in 2009. In 2024 the Workshop moved 5 minutes down the road, to a modern, larger space and we also invested in new machinery and tools. The move is part of an exciting new chapter for the company.
Sustainability is important to us and we are constantly working to reduce our environmental impact. All our joinery is built to last, however, we know that children grow and fashions change, so we always suggest details which provide flexibility, so joinery can be adapted to suit their new circumstances as needed. We plan our fitting and delivery schedules carefully to ensure that they are efficient and limit unnecessary journeys. When travelling in London we use public transport where possible.
Timber and timber products, when appropriately sourced, are highly sustainable and recyclable materials requiring low energy consumption to process and being thermally efficient to use. We have an established relationship with independent timber merchant James Latham who hold themselves accountable to high standards of environmental and ethical production and have a robust environmental policy. You can read more about their approach here.
Over the years Cullinan Joinery has built and maintained excellent working relationships with many interior designers, architects, project managers, decorators and other tradespeople. We are always happy to recommend trusted collaborators to our clients.
